The best of 2011 and a few from earlier

It was good year for the garden, lots of rain, sun and a lot of Karen's sweat.

Bonnie's 95th birthday.

We should all be so lucky.

The Missouri state capital in spring.

This one of the few pictures I took in China. It's in Hefei. (pronounced Her-Fey). The picture pretty much sums it up. Massive building and pollution.

This is one of the better pictures of me.

I wonder who took it.

I'm really not as bald as this picture appears.

Yes, I know, you've seen this one before.

Hey, I like it.

Finally, I got real frog sitting on a real lily pad!

In our front yard is a large sweet gum tree. Provides lovely shade in the summer. Unfortunately, it also produces these balls. This picture is the only good use I've found for them so far.

Looks kind of like a Hobit house ?

A immature hydrangea flower with the ubiquitous cicada.

I took this with the iPhone, and then started playing with it using some of the iPad apps. It turned out rather strange, but somewhat interesting.

She can eat her own weight up in crab meat.

Really

Karen got a new ride.

Yes, she actually has a 2 wheeled scooter that she seems to like.

Another iPhone picture, but it kind of captures the mood.

This is Tapaz in one of his many 'interesting' poses.

Dana, Karen and Mellisa at the

Saphire Resturant

(I still call it the Top of the Round)

Impressed?

Don't be; I photoshoped the hell out of this one.

That is indeed Vice-President Biden when he visited us at ABB back in 2009.

The head is from a different photo as the body, the ABB logo was added so the people at work would like it. A whole lot of people were actually standing in front of the transformer (the transformer is the big green thing).

But hey, I took the photos and got to shake his hand!

When I took a class from the Rocky Mountain School of

Photography, this is the picture I took for them to critique.

They were too kind.  It's a shot in Sydney Australia from some park and behind the tree is the opera building and the bridge.

Well anyway, they thought I pushed the saturation up too high. Probably true, but that tree was pretty much that color in real life.

By the way, the classes from the Rocky Mountain School of Photography are excellent I highly recommend them.

Another picture from Australia, this time outside of Sydney.

These are called the Blue Mountains because of the blue hue. They say the blue color comes from the Mulberry trees
